History
House built from 1926 to 1927 for sculptors Jan and Joël Martel, who frequently collaborated with the building's architect, Rob Mallet-Stevens. Their studio occupies the ground floor. As part of the coordinated development of rue Mallet-Stevens, it is the only house to preserve intact its original layout and volumes. The two sculptors, twin brothers, worked there until their death in 1966. Several of their works are preserved today in the villa. A stained-glass window by Louis Barillet adorns the stairwell. £
