Immeuble datant du milieu du 16e siècle et comprenant sous les n°23/25 de la rue des Marchands, plusieurs constructions différentes, réunies au 18e siècle, sous une toiture unique à comble brisé. Sur la partie de gauche de la façade, étages en encorbellement, construits en pans de bois. Bandeaux en bois, moulurés, soulignant la saillie des étages. Oriel d'angle, en forme de tourelle polygonale, supporté par des consoles en pierre et couronné, actuellement, par un balcon. Dans la partie centrale de la façade, le deuxième étage, également construit en pans de bois. Le rez-de-chaussée s'ouvre par de larges arcades, destinées à donner accès et lumière à des boutiques. Sur la partie de droite de la façade, au-dessus de la grande arcade d'entrée, se trouve actuellement, encastrée dans le mur, une plaque en pierre portant une inscription très intéressante relatant la démolition d'une construction précédente que le duc Rodolphe d'Autriche avait fait raser en 1358, avec défense de la reconstruire, pour rappeler le souvenir d'une révolte qu'une partie des colmariens avait organisée contre ses dirigeants.

History
Building dating from the middle of the 16th century and comprising under nos. 23/25 rue des Marchands, several different constructions, united in the 18th century under a single roof with a mansard roof space. On the left part of the façade, upper storeys in corbelling, built in timber framing. Moulded wooden moulding bands, underlining the projection of the storeys. Corner oriel, in the form of a polygonal turret, supported by stone consoles and crowned, currently, by a balcony. In the central part of the façade, the second storey, also built in timber framing. The ground floor opens by wide arcades, intended to give access and light to shops. On the right part of the façade, above the large entrance arcade, is currently found, set into the wall, a stone plaque bearing a very interesting inscription relating the demolition of a previous construction which Duke Rudolf of Austria had razed in 1358, with prohibition of rebuilding it, to recall the memory of a revolt that part of the Colmarians had organized against their leaders.
