Historique
Le tunnel hélicoïdal sur la ligne de Pau à Canfranc a été construit de 1909 à 1917 par la Compagnie du Midi ; il a été électrifié et mis en service en juillet 1928. La tête de tunnel est construite en moellons de calcaire hourdés au mortier de chaux. La circulation est interrompue depuis 1970.

History
The helical tunnel on the Pau to Canfranc line was constructed from 1909 to 1917 by the Compagnie du Midi; it was electrified and put into service in July 1928. The tunnel head is constructed in limestone rubble stone bonded with lime mortar. Traffic has been interrupted since 1970.
