Historique
Bastide fondée par Alphonse de Poitiers en 1267. Le plan régulier est organisé autour de la place centrale où se tient la halle qui abrite un marché depuis 1305. Cette halle ouverte dispose d'une charpente en chêne reposant sur trois portiques concentriques de plan carré. La partie centrale formant tabouret supporte un local en pan de bois qui abrita les réunions de la jurade. La halle date du 16e siècle, avec des remplois des 14e et 15e siècles.

History
Bastide founded by Alphonse of Poitiers in 1267. The regular plan is organized around the central square where stands the market hall which has housed a market since 1305. This open hall has an oak roof structure resting on three concentric porticoes of square plan. The central part forming a pedestal supports a timber-framed local building which housed the jurade meetings. The hall dates from the 16th century, with reused elements from the 14th and 15th centuries.
