This castle would be the former fief of Estienne de Vignolles, surnamed La Hire, companion of Jeanne d'Arc. The building comprises buildings of various periods. The central pavilion dates from the 17th century. Additions and modifications were made in the 19th century. The domain comprises a spring emerging from the rock on the north side of the castle, in a niche built in the manner of a Roman temple with a triangular pediment. All around has been laid out a paved space, with a stone bench. This ensemble could belong to the Gallo-Roman period or be a Renaissance pastiche. The central pavilion of the castle is topped by the first lightning conductor invented by J. de Romas (1713-1776), still in service. This lightning conductor consists of a large ball of lead absorbing electricity.
