En 1230, l'évêque d'Auch fait cession de l'église d'Escalans à l'abbaye de la Grande-Sauve. L'édifice se compose d'une nef terminée par un choeur flanqué de deux absidioles. Dans le prolongement des absidioles, deux petites chapelles rappellent une église avec transept. La nef est voûtée en bois. Le choeur est entouré d'une série de colonnes doubles et simples à chapiteaux sculptés. A l'extérieur, la porte d'entrée gothique est encadrée de deux contreforts, dont l'un est en partie pris dans l'escalier d'accès au clocher pignon.

History
In 1230, the bishop of Auch cedes the church of Escalans to the abbey of la Grande-Sauve. The building is composed of a nave ending in a choir flanked by two absidioles. In the extension of the absidioles, two small chapels recall a church with transept. The nave is vaulted in wood. The choir is surrounded by a series of double and single columns with sculptured capitals. On the exterior, the Gothic entrance door is framed by two buttresses, one of which is partly taken up in the staircase giving access to the porch-tower.
