La paroisse est attestée à partir de 1289 comme une commanderie hospitalière dépendant de celle de Sallebruneau. Petit édifice peu retouché depuis l'époque romane, possédant une nef unique charpentée construite en moellons cubiques, terminée à l'est par une abside en hémicycle élevée, comme la façade occidentale, en grand appareil régulier témoignant d'une reprise de l'édifice dans la première moitié du 12e siècle. Le portail occidental est ouvert dans un avant-corps doté d'une corniche à modillons sculptés constituant, avec les chapiteaux de l'entrée, le seul élément de décor extérieur de l'église.

History
The parish is attested from 1289 as a hospital commandery dependent on that of Sallebruneau. Small building little altered since the Romanesque period, possessing a single nave with roof structure built in cubic rubble stone, terminated to the east by a hemicyclical apse raised, like the western façade, in regular large ashlars testifying to a rebuilding of the building in the first half of the 12th century. The western portal is opened in a projection provided with a cornice with sculpted modillions constituting, with the capitals of the entrance, the only element of external decoration of the church.
