Historique
Au cours du 18e siècle, la famille Gaubert, originaire de Portets, fait fortune dans le commerce et l'armement des navires (transport de sucre). Vers 1796, le négociant, souhaitant agrandir sa maison champêtre pour en faire une exploitation viticole, fait appel à l'architecte Gabriel Durand qui a travaillé sous les ordres de Victor Louis. Durand conserve la demeure initiale du milieu du 18e siècle qu'il agrandit. Il édifie un ensemble de dépendances destinées à assurer le fonctionnement du domaine viticole. Le tout est embelli d'un jardin. Un portail donne accès au logis primitif, sans étage, rectangulaire. De part et d'autre du bâtiment se dressent deux pavillons rectangulaires. Celui de gauche est relié à la demeure par un corps de communs ; celui de droite, la chapelle, par une arcature. Les dépendances s'étendaient sur trois côtés, délimitant une vaste cour close par un mur sur le quatrième côté. Les aménagements du parc ont disparu.

History
During the 18th century, the Gaubert family, originating from Portets, made their fortune in commerce and the fitting-out of ships (sugar transport). Around 1796, the merchant, wishing to enlarge his country house to make it a wine-growing operation, called upon architect Gabriel Durand who had worked under Victor Louis. Durand preserved the initial dwelling of the mid-18th century which he enlarged. He built a set of outbuildings designed to ensure the functioning of the wine-growing estate. All was enhanced by a garden. A gateway gives access to the primitive dwelling, without storey, rectangular. On either side of the building stand two rectangular pavilions. The one on the left is connected to the dwelling by a service range; the one on the right, the chapel, by an arcading. The outbuildings extended over three sides, delimiting a vast courtyard closed by a wall on the fourth side. The park layouts have disappeared.
