Des remparts de la ville de Bourg, il reste deux ruines de portes aux deux extrémités de la ville : l'une dénommée porte du Port domine les quais de la Gironde ; l'autre, qui défendait la route se dirigeant vers Blaye, a gardé le nom de cette dernière ville. La porte de Blaye semble remonter à la fin du 15e siècle ; elle a souffert de l'élargissement des routes, un de ses côtés a complètement disparu. La porte, dont le linteau est décoré d'une accolade, donne accès à une salle carrée formant le rez-de-chaussée d'une tour ronde.

History
Of the ramparts of the town of Bourg, there remain two ruined gates at the two ends of the town: one called the Porte du Port overlooking the quays of the Gironde; the other, which defended the road leading towards Blaye, has retained the name of that town. The Porte de Blaye appears to date from the end of the 15th century; it has suffered from the widening of the roads, one of its sides has completely disappeared. The gate, whose lintel is decorated with an ogee, gives access to a square room forming the ground floor of a round tower.
