Historique

History
Castle attested from 1340. It suffered the vicissitudes due to the Hundred Years' War, Wars of Religion and Fronde. The southern and eastern buildings were entirely rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building is situated at the summit of a knoll, on successive terraces bounded by walls. The north-western part of the terrace is occupied by outbuildings. The castle is situated at the centre. Two dwellings in L-shape are joined by a polygonal tower containing the spiral staircase. A large round tower and a smaller one horseshoe-shaped, rest against these great buildings which lost their machicolations in the 19th century. To the east and south, the inner enclosure is bounded by two other L-shaped buildings. Two large round towers, one of which is transformed into a chapel, reinforce its defence.
