An inscription preserved in the north wall of the nave gives the date of dedication, 1194, by Adhémar de la Tour, Bishop of Périgueux. Nave followed by a choir bay under dome and a choir with semi-circular apse. The nave may have been vaulted. Above the buttresses, the wall appears to have been rebuilt to receive a cornice under modillions. Above this cornice, the wall has again been raised to receive the roof plates of the roof structure. The great north arch of the choir bay opens onto a rectangular chapel with a barrel vault of rubble stone, which may date from the 13th or 14th century. A sacrarium is preserved there under a round arch decorated with small carved lobes and a cross. The great south arch formerly opened onto a side chapel. The external elevations on the south of the choir bay reveal that the church was not on cruciform plan and that the chapel which formed the south transept was a later addition. The square bell tower rests on the choir bay. Its upper part, pierced with two rectangular openings on each face, was rebuilt in the 18th century.
