Historique
Audrix fut l'un des sept archiprêtrés du diocèse de Sarlat, constitués par Raymond de Roquecorn, premier évêque de cette ville en 1318. Cet archiprêtré comprenait huit paroisses. L'église souffrit des guerres de Cent ans. Elle fut fortifiée et occupée tour à tour par les Français et les Anglais. L'édifice se compose d'une nef unique, suivie d'un choeur rectangulaire. History
Audrix was one of seven archpresbyteries of the diocese of Sarlat, established by Raymond de Roquecorn, first bishop of that city in 1318. This archpresbytery comprised eight parishes. The church suffered from the Hundred Years' War. It was fortified and occupied in turn by the French and the English. The building consists of a single nave, followed by a rectangular choir. The nave was re-vaulted in timber. The façade opens through a door with a pointed arch with large voussoirs. Towards the summit, a rectangular opening should have opened onto a defence of the hourd type. The south façade presents a door of similar construction. On the semi-circular chevet was erected, in the 14th century, a polygonal bell tower keep whose base at the angles is in slight overhang over the primitive chevet. Small loopholes contributed to its defence.
