History
The church is mentioned in the cartulary of the abbey of Cadouin. It also served as a meeting place for solemn acts and the white monks owned nearby lands exempt from tithes. In 1875, Cabans ceased to exist in favour of Buisson which became the centre of the commune with a new parish church. Deconsecrated in 1880, the church was returned to worship in 1959. The building consists of a nave followed by a barlong choir. The three bays of the nave are vaulted with broken barrel vaults which appear to have been reconstructed in the 14th century. To the south of the first bay opens a circular baptismal font. To the north and south of the third bay open barlong chapels of the 16th century, vaulted with broken transverse barrel vaults. Nave and chapels have been opened with modern windows. A barlong bell tower rises above the western bay, reinforced on three of its angles by buttresses, the south-west one merging with the square tower of the bell tower stairs. The portal opens under three archivolts consisting of mouldings resting on small moulded bases supported by a dado.
