Théâtre édifié vers -15 avant JC. Sa construction, commencée peu après la fondation de la colonie romaine en Arles, s'est sans doute achevée vers l'an 12 avant notre ère. History
Theatre built around 15 BC. Its construction, begun shortly after the foundation of the Roman colony in Arles, was no doubt completed around 12 BC. Unable to benefit from a rocky face to support its tiers, the cavea was entirely established on an ensemble of substructures made of concentric galleries and radiating barrel-vaulted rooms.
