Grand immeuble d'habitation construit de 1932 à 1934 par Garabed Hovnanian, architecte d'origine arménienne. Barouyr et Hrant Hovnanian, ses frères, en sont les entrepreneurs. L'immeuble est réalisé pour Joachim Nahapiet, un promoteur d'origine iranienne ayant fait fortune aux Etats-Unis. Construit en béton armé, c'est un immeuble de rapport moderne, comportant un rez-de-chaussée prévu pour des boutiques, un garage souterrain et cinq étages d'appartements. Témoignant de la complexité des références animant la modernité architecturale, l'immeuble se caractérise par le traitement soigné de ses espaces de réception et parties communes, ainsi que par l'importance de son programme décoratif, d'inspiration Art Déco. D'une technique inédite - une mosaïque de morceaux de verre colorés, collés entre deux vitres -, les vitraux, signés par Lasalle d'après des cartons du peintre Mahokian, présentent des paysages pointillistes.

History
Large residential building built from 1932 to 1934 by Garabed Hovnanian, architect of Armenian origin. Barouyr and Hrant Hovnanian, his brothers, are its contractors. The building was built for Joachim Nahapiet, a promoter of Iranian origin who made his fortune in the United States. Built in reinforced concrete, it is a modern rental building, comprising a ground floor intended for shops, an underground garage and five storeys of apartments. Testifying to the complexity of the references animating architectural modernity, the building is characterised by the careful treatment of its reception spaces and common areas, as well as by the importance of its decorative programme, of Art Deco inspiration. Of an unprecedented technique - a mosaic of pieces of coloured glass, glued between two panes of glass - the stained glass windows, signed by Lasalle after cartoons by the painter Mahokian, present pointillist landscapes.
