La charte de fondation de l'abbaye cistercienne de Royaumont date de 1228. History
The charter of foundation of the Cistercian abbey of Royaumont dates from 1228. From 1234 onwards, the abbey church became a royal necropolis: it is there that Saint-Louis had his young brother and other members of his family buried. The abbey is situated at the confluence of three rivers: the Oise, the Thève and the Ysieux. It underwent few modifications before the 18th century: abbatial palace, Guards pavilion, house of the Fathers and dairy.
