Kuvaus
Paimion kivikirkko keskiaikaisperäisen Suuren Rantatien varrella kuuluu maamme harvojen 1600-luvun kivikirkkojen joukkoon. Paimion vanha pappila sijaitsee keskiaikaisella paikallaan. Pappilan pihapiiri rakennuksineen kuvastaa hyvin pappiloiden asumiskulttuuria 1800-luvulla.
Paimion kivikirkko on muodoltaan yksilaivainen pitkäkirkko, jonka aumakattoisesta runkohuoneesta ulkonevat sakaristo ja asehuone. Saarnatuoli ja lehteri on rakennettu 1748-1749. Alttarinkehys vuodelta 1755 on Samuel Bernerin ja alttaritaulu vuodelta 1865 R.W. Ekmanin suunnittelema. Kirkkomaan kiviaitaan liittyy alaosaltaan harmaakivinen kellotapuli 1700-luvulta. Vanhaa hautausmaata ympäröi kivimuurin lisäksi kuusiaita. Suuri Rantatie, joka ylittää Paimionjoen kirkonkylän kohdalla, kulkee kirkonkylän halki Vistantienä.
Paimionjoen länsirannalla avoimessa viljelymaisemassa syrjässä kirkonkylästä ja pitäjän kirkosta sijaitsevan kirkkoherranpappilan pihapiiri rakennuksineen kuvastaa hyvin pappiloiden asumiskulttuuria 1800-luvulla, vaikkakin maatalouteen liittyvät rakennukset ovat hävinneet maaviljelyksen loputtua. Pappilan puinen päärakennus on rakennettu 1804-1806 Frans Mikael Franzénin ollessa Paimion kirkkoherrana. Rakennusta on jatkettu ja sen ulkoasua muutettu 1800-luvun jälkipuolella. Rakennuksen alla oleva kivikellari on osin 1500-luvulta. Päärakennuksen vieressä oleva sivurakennus on 1880-luvulta.
Paimion pappila sijoittuu Paimionjokilaakson valtakunnallisesti arvokkaalle maisema-alueelle.
Historia
Paimion keskiaikainen seurakunta perustettiin 1325. Paimion Pappilan kylä oli asutettu jo rautakaudella ja kirkkoherran pappila sijaitsi nykyisellä paikalla jo ainakin 1300-luvusta lähtien. Paimion nykyinen kirkko rakennettiin 1681-1689 uudelle paikalle Vistan kylään, kun vanha kirkko oli huonokuntoisena päätetty hylätä. Kirkon kiinteä sisustus uusittiin 1748-1756 ja osin uudelleen 1863 tehdyn lääninarkkitehti P.J. Gylichin suunnitteleman sisäkorjauksen yhteydessä. Lautaholvaus korvattiin taitekatolla 1863. Kirkkoa restauroitiin 1952. Ruumishuone valmistui 1929 kirkkomaan kaakkoisportin luokse.

Description
The stone church of Paimio, along the medieval-origin Suuri Rantatie, belongs to the small number of 17th-century stone churches in the country. The old parsonage of Paimio stands on its medieval site. The parsonage yard with its buildings illustrates well the residential culture of parsonages in the 19th century.
The stone church of Paimio is a single-nave long church, from whose hipped-roofed nave project a sacristy and an asehuone. The pulpit and gallery were built in 1748-1749. The altar frame of 1755 was designed by Samuel Berner, and the altarpiece of 1865 by R.W. Ekman. Attached to the stone wall of the churchyard is a bell tower dating from the 18th century, whose lower part is of grey stone. The old cemetery is surrounded, in addition to a stone wall, by a spruce hedge. The Suuri Rantatie, which crosses the Paimionjoki at the church village, runs through the church village as Vistantie.
On the western bank of the Paimionjoki, in open farmland, away from the church village and the parish church, the yard of the vicarage with its buildings illustrates well the residential culture of parsonages in the 19th century, although the farm buildings related to agriculture have disappeared since farming ended. The wooden main building of the parsonage was built in 1804-1806, when Frans Mikael Franzén was vicar of Paimio. The building was extended and its exterior altered in the latter half of the 19th century. The stone cellar beneath the building is partly from the 16th century. The side building beside the main building dates from the 1880s.
The Paimio parsonage lies within the Paimionjoki valley, a landscape area of national value.
History
The medieval parish of Paimio was established in 1325. The village of Paimion Pappila was already inhabited in the Iron Age, and the vicarage had stood on its present site since at least the 14th century. The present church of Paimio was built in 1681-1689 on a new site in the village of Vista, when it was decided to abandon the old church, which was in poor condition. The church's fixed interior was renewed in 1748-1756 and partly again in 1863, in connection with the interior repair designed by provincial architect P.J. Gylich. The board vault was replaced by a mansard ceiling in 1863. The church was restored in 1952. The mortuary was completed in 1929 by the southeast gate of the churchyard.
