Kuvaus
Poikkeuksellisen mahtava asuinrakennus liittyy tyyliltään ranskalaiseen barokkiarkkitehtuuriin. Päärakennusta ympäröi laaja hoidettu puisto, jossa on sekä ranskalaisen barokkipuiston että vapaamman englantilaistyylisen puiston piirteitä. Puiston laidassa on vanhan päärakennuksen kivijalalle 1911-12 rakennettu, arkkitehti Max Frelanderin suunnittelema jugendtyylinen asuinrakennus ”Huvila”. Tiilinen 1924 rakennettu tallirakennus on arkkitehti Sigurd Frosteruksen piirtämä.
Monikkalan kartanolle johtaa koivujen reunustama tie. Rakennuksen arkkitehtoninen yleisilme on lukuisista muutoksista huolimatta selkeän uusklassistinen.
Historia
Monikkalan kartano muodostettiin kahdesta Monikkalan kylän talosta vuonna 1539. Kartanon ensimmäinen omistaja oli kirjuri Knuutti Antinpoika.
Vanantaan kartano syntyi 1500-luvun jälkipuoliskolla, kun kylän talot yhdistettiin säterikartanoksi. Kartano on kuulunut mm. Spåre- Bosin- ja Standertskjöld-suvuille.

Description
The manors of Monikkala and Vanantaa are Tavastian manors founded in the 16th century. Their surroundings include open fields shaped by centuries of continuous cultivation, Iron Age ancient monuments, and manor farm complexes and manor parks that developed in layers over a long period.
The manors and their open fields form an extensive cultivated landscape stretching from Hiidenjoki to Kernaalanjärvi. To the west, the landscape merges with the cultural landscape formed by Hakoinen manor, the hill fort and the field landscape.
The three-storey brick main building of Vanantaa manor was completed in 1901 to designs by architect Waldemar Aspelin. The exceptionally imposing residential building is stylistically linked to French Baroque architecture. The main building is surrounded by an extensive, well-kept park which has features of both a French Baroque garden and a freer English-style park. At the edge of the park stands the residential building “Huvila”, built in 1911-12 on the stone foundation of the old main building and designed by architect Max Frelander in the Art Nouveau (Jugend) style. The brick stable building, built in 1924, was drawn by architect Sigurd Frosterus.
A road lined with birches leads to Monikkala manor. The partly two-storey log main building stands within a park on the highest point of the slope. The main structure dates from the 1780s and was extended at the beginning of the 19th century. The second storey was built in 1839, and the symmetrical courtyard wings were completed in 1910. Despite numerous alterations, the architectural character of the building is clearly Neoclassical. The workers' residential buildings around the farmyard date from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The courtyard area and garden on the southern slope date from the 1840s.
History
Monikkala manor was formed from two farms in the village of Monikkala in 1539. The manor's first owner was the scribe Knuutti Antinpoika.
Vanantaan kartano came into being in the second half of the 16th century, when the village's farms were merged into a säterikartano. The manor has belonged to the Spåre, Bosin and Standertskjöld families, among others.
