The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Asemapihan itäpuolella on kaksoisvahtitupa talousrakennuksineen. Asemakokonaisuuteen liittyy puisto, tiilinen vesitorni sekä entinen OTK:n mylly.

Tampereelta Porin Mäntyluotoon kulkevaa, Satakunnan teollisuutta palvelevaa rataa suunniteltiin 1880-luvun alusta lähtien. Päätös sen rakentamisesta tehtiin 1889. Rata valmistui 1895.

Ratapihalla sijainnut tiilirakenteinen veturitalli purettiin vuosituhannen vaihteessa.

The former Tyrvää railway station (Vammala railway station from 1955) is a representative and well-preserved Class IV rural station on the Tampere-Pori line. The varied building stock of the station area is enriched by an exceptionally handsome water tower, a brick mill of the cooperative store and a grain storehouse.

In addition to the station building, the station area includes a goods storehouse, a double watchman's cottage, and a residential barracks with its annexes and cellars. On the east side of the station yard is a double watchman's cottage with its outbuildings. The station ensemble includes a park, the brick water tower and the former OTK's mill.

The line from Tampere to Mäntyluoto in Pori, serving industry in Satakunta, was planned from the early 1880s onwards. A decision to build it was made in 1889. The line was completed in 1895. The line was the last one whose station buildings were built, for reasons of economy, to the drawings of the Oulu line.

In addition to the Class IV station building at Tyrvää, both double watchman's cottages and some of the outbuildings were completed in 1895. The station buildings survived when a large part of the market town of Vammala was destroyed in the Civil War of 1918. The station building was extended in 1925 with a yard wing. The goods storehouse was built in 1930, the water tower in 1932 and the residential barracks in 1942. The brick-built engine shed that was located in the railway yard was demolished at the turn of the millennium.
