Kuvaus
Vanhan Ylä-Satakunnan ja Kokemäen joen varren keskiaikaisen asutuksen ydinalueella Rautaveteen pistävä Tyrvään Kirkkoniemi ja sen tyveen sijoittuneet harmaakivikirkko ja rakenteeltaan tiiviinä säilynyt Kallialan ryhmäkylä ympäröivine peltomaisemineen muodostavat maisemallisen ja historiallisen kiinnekohdan Rautaveden länsirannan kulttuurimaisemassa.
Pyhälle Olaville omistettu myöhäiskeskiaikainen kirkko sijaitsee Rautaveteen loivasti laskeutuvalla kallioniemekkeellä, joka on kirkon rakentamisaikaan ollut saari. Kirkon länsipäädyssä on satakuntalaisille kirkoille luonteenomaista kulmatiilinauhoista sommiteltua, porrastettua koristelukuviointia, itäpäädyn tiilikoristelun keskeisenä aiheena on neljästä pyöreästä ruusukomerosta koottu ristimäinen sommitelma.
Vanhankirkonniemen tyvessä oleva Kallialan ryhmäkylä on säilyttänyt keskiaikaisen sijaintinsa. Vanhoilla kylätonteilla sijaitsevien kantatilojen rakennuskanta muodostaa tiiviitä ryhmiä, joiden välitse kylätie kiertää. Rautaveteen laskevat pellot, laidunmaat ja hakamaat kehystävät kylää.
Tyrvään vanhan kirkon maisema on osa valtakunnallisesti arvokasta Karkku-Tyrvää -maisema-aluetta.
Historia
Rautaveden rantojen vahvaan asutukseen jo esihistoriallisella ajalla viittaavat lukuisat kivi- ja rautakauden muinaisjäännökset. Kallialan kylä on saanut pysyvän asutuksen keskiajalla. Kylän tiivis rakenne säilyi, vaikka isojaon jälkeen osa taloista siirtyi kyläpellon laidalla olevalle mäkialueelle.
Esihistorialliselle kulttipaikalle 1500-luvun alussa rakennettu ja Pyhälle Olaville pyhitetty kirkko jäi käytöstä 1855 uuden kirkon valmistuessa Vammaskosken partaalle. Kirkon käyttö alkoi uudelleen 1960-luvulla, jolloin kirkosta tuli suosittu vihkipaikka. Tuhopoltto hävitti kirkon puurakenteet ja 1700-luvulta peräisin olleen kiinteän sisustuksen syyskuussa 1997. Kirkko palautettiin ulkohahmoltaan paloa edeltäneeseen asuunsa vuoden 2000 aikana ja vihittiin uudelleen käyttöön 2003. Alttarin, saarnatuolin ja lehtereiden maalaukset toteuttivat 2005-2009 Osmo Rauhala ja Kuutti Lavonen vanhojen aiheiden pohjalta.

Description
The Tyrvää Kirkkoniemi peninsula, which juts into Rautavesi at the core of the medieval settlement of old Ylä-Satakunta and the Kokemäen joki valley, together with the grey-stone church at its base and the Kalliala ryhmäkylä, whose compact structure has survived largely intact along with its surrounding field landscape, forms a landscape and historical landmark in the cultural landscape of Rautavesi's western shore.
The late medieval church dedicated to Pyhä Olavi stands on a gently sloping rocky promontory that jutted into Rautavesi and was an island when the church was built. The western gable of the church carries a decorative pattern of stepped corner-brick bands, characteristic of Satakunta churches, while the central motif of the brickwork on the eastern gable is a cross-shaped composition formed of four round rose-windows.
Kalliala ryhmäkylä, at the base of Vanhankirkonniemi, has kept its medieval location. The building stock of the original farms on the old village plots forms compact groups, between which the village road winds. Fields, pastures and hakamaat (wooded meadows) that slope down to Rautavesi frame the village.
The landscape of the old church of Tyrvää is part of the nationally valuable Karkku-Tyrvää landscape area.
History
Numerous Stone Age and Iron Age ancient remains point to dense settlement along the shores of Rautavesi already in prehistoric times. Kalliala village acquired permanent settlement in the Middle Ages. The village's compact structure survived, although after the Great Partition some farms moved to the hilly area on the edge of the village field.
The church, built at the beginning of the 16th century on the site of a prehistoric cult place and dedicated to Pyhä Olavi, fell out of use in 1855 when a new church was completed on the bank of Vammaskoski. The church began to be used again in the 1960s, when it became a popular wedding venue. Arson destroyed the wooden structures and the fixed interior, which dated from the 18th century, in September 1997. The church was restored to its external appearance before the fire during 2000 and was reconsecrated for use in 2003. The paintings of the altar, pulpit and galleries were executed in 2005-2009 by Osmo Rauhala and Kuutti Lavonen, based on old motifs.
