The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Korialla vuolaan ja korkearantaisen Kymijoen ylittävät kaksi rinnakkaista siltaa ovat vaikuttava rautatieliikenteen historiasta kertova kokonaisuus. Sillat edustavat rakentamisaikansa siltatekniikan huippua maassamme ja niissä näkyy siltatekniikan kehitys.

Vanhempi rautatiesilta vuodelta 1870 on teräksinen kolmijänteinen ristikkosilta, vanhin Suomen ristikkosilloista. Se on myös Suomen ainoa keittoraudasta valmistettu silta; ns. englantilaista keittorautaa on käytetty keskiaukon monijakoisen teräsristikon valmistukseen. Ristikko on niitattu kokoon rakennuspaikalla.

Vanhan rautatiesillan viereen rakennettu kaksiraiteinen ratasilta on betoninen holvisilta. Sen keskiarkadikaaren jännemitta on 70 metriä. Silta on Suomen ensimmäisiä suuria teräsbetonisiltoja.

Kymijoen Korialla ylittävä Riihimäki-Pietari -radan silta rakennettiin 1870. Yksiraiteinen silta aiheutti hankaluuksia liikenteen lisäämiselle ja uuden sillan suunnittelu ja valmistus tilattiin Oy Constructor Ab:lta. Uudempi rautatiesilta valmistui 1925.

The two parallel bridges crossing the fast-flowing, high-banked Kymijoki at Koria form an impressive ensemble that tells the story of the history of railway traffic. The bridges represent the peak of bridge engineering of their construction periods in our country, and they show the development of bridge technology.

The older railway bridge, dating from 1870, is a steel three-span lattice truss bridge, the oldest lattice bridge in Finland. It is also the only bridge in Finland made from cast iron; so-called English cast iron was used for the multi-panel steel truss of the central span. The truss was riveted together on the construction site. The bridge has served as both a railway and a road bridge and is now used for light traffic. In 1996 the Finnish Road Administration selected the old Koria bridge as one of the museum bridges that illustrate the development stages of the country's transport network and bridge-building skill.

The double-track railway bridge built alongside the old railway bridge is a concrete arch bridge. The span of its central arch is 70 metres. The bridge is one of the first large reinforced concrete bridges in Finland.

The railway bridge over the Kymijoki at Koria, on the Riihimäki-Pietari railway line, was built in 1870. The single-track bridge caused difficulties for increasing traffic, and the design and manufacture of a new bridge was ordered from Oy Constructor Ab. The newer railway bridge was completed in 1925. The older bridge was used for road traffic from 1924 to 1985, when a new road bridge was completed.

The Koria bridges, which were of great strategic importance, were among the most bombed targets during the Winter War and the Continuation War, but they survived almost undamaged.
