The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Taiteilija Emil Danielssonin Pirunvuoren kivilinna kuuluu kansallisromantiikan ajan merkittäviin taiteilijahuviloihin kuten Kalela, Ainola, Visavuori tai Hvitträsk.

Taiteilija Emil Danielssonin (1882-1967) itselleen 1900-luvun alussa suunnittelema ja rakennuttama Pirunvuoren taiteilija-ateljee on suurista ja karkeasti muotoilluista luonnonkivistä kylmämuurauksella toteutettu huvila. Se sijaitsee Rautaveden itärannalla korkean Pirunvuoren laella, josta on laaja näköala yli Rautaveden. Ympäristö on kivikkoista pirunpeltoa. Emil Danielsson maalasi Pirunvuoren maisemia puolen vuosisadan ajan.

Pirunvuori sijaitsee valtakunnallisesti arvokkaalla Karkku - Tyrvää -maisema-alueella.

Taiteilija Emil Danielsson työskenteli 1906 valmistuneessa Kivilinnassa aina vuoteen 1964. Talvikaudet taiteilija asui Turussa, Tampereella ja Helsingissä, kesäisin Karkussa.

Kivilinna siirtyi testamentin kautta Tyrvään seudun kotiseutuyhdistykselle, jolta Vammalan kaupunginhallitus vastaanotti sen 1990. Kivilinna peruskorjattiin 1997-1998. Korjauksessa uusittiin mm. sisäseinäpinnat, lattiat ja pärekatto.

The Pirunvuori stone castle of artist Emil Danielsson is among the notable artists' villas of the National Romantic era, such as Kalela, Ainola, Visavuori or Hvitträsk.

The Pirunvuori artist's studio, which artist Emil Danielsson (1882-1967) designed and had built for himself in the early 20th century, is a villa made of large, roughly shaped natural stones and built using dry-stone masonry. It is located on the eastern shore of Rautavesi, on the top of the high hill Pirunvuori, from which there is a wide view across Rautavesi. The surroundings are rocky pirunpelto. Emil Danielsson painted the landscapes of Pirunvuori for half a century.

Pirunvuori lies within the nationally valuable Karkku - Tyrvää landscape area.

Artist Emil Danielsson worked at Kivilinna, completed in 1906, until 1964. In winter the artist lived in Turku, Tampere and Helsinki, and in summer in Karkku.

Kivilinna passed by will to the Tyrvää seudun kotiseutuyhdistys, from which the Vammala city council received it in 1990. Kivilinna was thoroughly renovated in 1997-1998. The renovation renewed, among other things, the interior wall surfaces, the floors and the pärekatto roof.
