The Benjamin F. Jones Cottage is a Queen Anne house on Third St. in Cresson Township, Cambria County. Built in 1887-1888 with the Wilson Brothers as architects, it was listed in the National Register in 1995.
Why it's listed

Physical character
Weatherboard and wood shingle walls sit on a sandstone foundation, and round turrets mark the corners under a gambrel roof. Corbelled brick chimneys, pole gutters and a half-timbered north gable mark the exterior, and a large stair hall lies inside. In the 1940s it was divided into apartments, with a stairway and porches added on the south; asphalt shingles covered the roof in the 1970s.
Historical context
Benjamin Franklin Jones visited Cresson Springs in 1885 and leased Lot 13 in 1887, and the cottage built there in 1888 was reported to have cost $35,000. He left the management of Jones and Laughlin Steel in 1900 and died in 1903. It was vacant, with work in progress, when listed; the Cresson Area Historical Association had bought it in 1990.
