The Forest-Moraine Residential Historic District is a 65-acre neighborhood of houses in Hammond, Lake County, within an area marked by Stateline Ave., Hohman Ave., Wildwood Rd. and 165th St. Its houses include bungalow and Craftsman, Prairie School, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, English Cottage, French Eclectic Cottage and American Four Square designs, along with some ranch houses.

It was listed in the National Register in 2010 under criterion C, with local significance in architecture. The nomination gives its period of significance as 1913 to 1950, beginning with the first home built in the neighborhood in 1913.

Brick walls, including reddish-orange brick, appear under roofs of French-cut clay tile or fiberglass shingles. Other houses are finished in stucco, wood shingles or wood weatherboard, and some have vinyl or aluminum siding. Details include stone jack arches with keystones, exposed rafter tails, louvered shutters and brick chimneys with stone caps.

The first home in the neighborhood was built in 1913, and ninety-three homes had been constructed through 1923. An apartment building at 64 Kenwood was constructed in 1955, and at the time of listing the district held both single and multiple dwellings.
