In the 1930s a balcony, stairwell, and office were added, and the west facade windows were replaced in the 1990s.

It formed in 1865, and the village was renamed from Crooked Hill to Sanatoga in 1890. In 1891, 112 people gathered at the Sanatoga schoolhouse and marched to the new chapel. It was used for religious education and community gathering through its period of significance, and was donated to the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society in 1991.
