West Enosburg United Methodist Church

In 1825 Reverend Isaac Hall and 15 parishioners founded Enosburgh’s first Methodist Church. A church building was constructed on this site in 1839 with a resonant bronze bell donated by Austin Fuller, a prominent West Enosburg resident. In 1855 and again in 1882, the church burned and was rebuilt with the bell in place. In the 1880s this Methodist Church served a flourishing congregation of 65 members and shared a pastor with the Methodist Church in Enosburg Falls. In 2021, when the building became structurally unsafe, the small West Enosburg congregation merged with the congregation in Enosburg Falls, and the church was demolished. The merger ended the church’s almost 200 years as a place of worship here.
