First Public Grammar School -- Located on this site
Located on this site. On June 17, 1785, the Vermont General Assembly enacted a law which designated the place for keeping a County Grammar School in and for Windsor County, shall be at the house commonly known by the name the Red Schoolhouse in Norwich, thus initiating the provision of Vermonts First Constitution for schools of secondary learning.
