Pamunkey Reservation
Eight miles south is the reservation where live descendants of the ancient tribe of Pamunkey Indians. It has always been Indian property, all that remains of the domain of Powhatan, who at the time of the first settlement (1607) ruled over the tribes of eastern Virginia and Maryland.
