First Church at Kecoughtan
Near by a monument marks the site of the first church at Kecoughtan (Hampton), built in 1610, the first church in the oldest Englishsettled town in America. William Mease was the first minister of the parish, from 1610 until about 1620. In 1667, the church was still standing.
