Curles Neck and Bremo
Named for the curves made here by James River, Curles Neck was patented in 1617. It was the home of Nathaniel Bacon, the Rebel, in 1676. In 1698, William Randolph of Turkey Island obtained the estate, which he left to his son, Richard Randolph, grandfather of John Randolph of Roanoke. Just beyond is Bremo, patented by Richard Cocke in 1639.. Kando
