Mustered and Disbanded 1861-1865

Lynchburg County · dedicated 1941 · Park Avenue, across the street from intersection of Park Lane

At this point the Second Virginia Cavalry was mustered into service, May 10, 1861. At the same place the remnant of this regiment was disbanded, April 10, 1865, completing a service of four years lacking one month. The regiment participated in many campaigns and engagements.
