Francisco's Fight

A few miles east Peter Francisco, a soldier in the Virginia service, defeated, singlehanded, nine of Tarleton's British dragoons, July, 1781. Francisco weighed two hundred and sixty pounds and was considered the strongest man in Virginia. After the Revolution he became doorkeeper of the House of Delegates. He died in 1836.
