Greenfield
One mile west is Greenfield, home of William Preston, built before the Revolution. Preston was member of the House of Burgesses for Augusta County, 1765-1768, and for Botetourt County, 1769-1771. He was an officer in the Indian wars and the Revolution, dying in 1783.
