German prisoners of war were held on this site from April 1944 to February 1946. The camp included buildings formerly used by Company 448 of the Civilian Conservation Corps. This thirty-acre site, owned by James Henry Stribling, was one of three sub-camps of Camp Forrest in Tullahoma. Three hundred and thirty-one prisoners were housed in tent barracks. The prisoners cut wood for the Wrigley Chemical Plant and occasionally worked as field hands on local farms.
