Originally built in 1859, the Belltown Mill was destroyed by a flood on Cane Creek in 1888, but was rebuilt by T.P. Milligan in 1895. He sold it to Charley and Lum Dye in 1913, and Ibue Sloan owned and operated the mill from 1921 to 1932. In 1932, Sloan sold it to Wayne Stephens, who later added a bolter to the mill and later a mixer. In 1936, Sloan sold it to Wayne Stephens, who later added a bolter to the mill and later a mixer. In 1936, Stephens replaced the wooden dam with a concrete structure, and in 1948, he sold the mill to O. B. Collins. After Collins' death in 1964 the mill was abandoned.
