Charlie Hall’s began in 1966 when Charles R. Hall purchased Pace Cansler’s business, which had begun in 1956. He and his wife began serving the Lakeside community, offering groceries and sandwiches. In the 1980s, Hall’s began selling hamburgers, thanks to the suggestion of employee Carl Foxx. Its success as a restaurant led to opening of a food service company, known as HallCo. Whether around the pot-bellied stove or the tables, people gathered here to share tall tales and discuss farming, politics, and the local news. Charlie and Helen Hall welcomed all who entered Charlie Hall’s establishment. Charlie Hall’s closed its doors in 2025.
