Built between 1858 and 1859 for Joseph Keebler by various artisans, the original home consisted of two large rooms on each floor with a hallway and staircase. The walls were four bricks thick with windows of hand-blown glass. The kitchen, a separate structure behind the house, was later used as a smokehouse. In 1950 Keebler's grandson, Joseph G. Keebler, sold the home and 120 acres to Weldon Faw Keefauver and wife Malinda B. Keefauver. In 1964 they sold it to their son William J. Keefauver and wife Jean. L. Keefauver.
