Front: Neely’s Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian (A.R.P.) Church organized about 1787. Rev. William Blackstock became the church’s first settled minister in 1794. Tradition holds members first worshipped under a brush arbor that was replaced by a log building near the center of the church cemetery. Reverse: In the 19th century, Neely’s Creek A.R.P. Church became an important institution for southeastern York Co. A new meeting house was constructed in 1832, with replacements later built in 1907 and 1973. The cemetery includes about 1,500 graves, the earliest of which dates to 1793. Burials continue to take place there.
