Front: Neals Creek Baptist Church formally organized in 1803, having previously been an arm of Big Creek Baptist Church near Williamston. It was served by Rev. Moses Holland of Big Creek Church until Revs. Robert King and William McGee became joint pastors in 1829. Members originally met in a log building NE of here. The church was a founding member of Saluda Baptist Association in 1803. Reverse: In 1832 this site was donated to the church by Edward Vandiver, a charter member and Revolutionary War veteran. In 1871 congregants replaced an older frame church with one built of locally produced brick. The brick church was remodeled and expanded in 1939. It served the church until a new sanctuary was completed in 1985. An education building was added in 1963.
