State’s Earliest Oil Refinery

Muskogee County · south of Muskogee on US-64/US-69, one mile north of junction with US-69/OK-165

Muskogee Oil Refining Company, organized in March 1905, built a finishing plant near this site in November 1904. It soon was producing lamp kerosene, lubricating oil, and industrial fuel, marking the beginning of oil refining in Oklahoma.
