Skeleton Ranch was a stage station on the Chisholm Trail. Like other stage stations along the trail, it provided a location where drovers could receive basic amenities and cattle herds could be contained.

The marker is located on state land and is accessible to the public. Follow all signage and stay on the road. Note from the marker program.
