Across the Peninsula is a Michigan historical marker in Mackinac County, dedicated 1964.

Old Portage Road, which ends near here, has been used to cross the peninsula since this shore was first settled. It closely parallels the Indian trail which was the way of the trapper and traveler in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
