Samuel Patterson
Operated flour mill one-fourth mile south. Was captain in French and Indian War. In American Revolution was member of Boston Relief Committee, colonel of Delaware battalion of famous “Flying Camp,” Brigadier General of Delaware militia and first treasurer of Delaware State. Died 1785. Buried in Presbyterian Cemetery at Christiana.
