Dallidet Adobe

This was the home of Pierre Hyppolite Dallidet, a native of France, who settled in San Luis Obispo in 1853 and became a vineyardist. It was given by Paul Dallidet, his son, to the San Luis Obispo County Historical Society in 1953, in memory of the Dallidet family, who had occupied it for a century.

1971 register text, presented as a historical document. It uses the period's terms for Native people; the state's landmark listings still carry most of this wording, and the California Office of Historic Preservation maintains the program's current texts.
