Forbes Flour Mill

This is all that remains of the four-story stone flour mill built in 1854 by James Alexander Forbes. The town which grew around this building was first called Forbes Mill, then Forbestown, and finally Los Gatos.

1971 register text, presented as a historical document. It uses the period's terms for Native people; the state's landmark listings still carry most of this wording, and the California Office of Historic Preservation maintains the program's current texts.
