Cadw's description

The following provides a general description of the Scheduled Monument.

Large circular enclosure, enclosed with the remains of a substantial boulder built wall. A more recent sub rectangular sheepfold sits within with two sides touching the enclosure wall. Traces of a circular structure can be seen in the E corner of the enclosure, and the remains of a rectangular structure survive in the N corner of the sheepfold. The entrance is very ruined but still visible, with at least one jamb standing. Although the enclosure wall is much ruined, many facing stones remain in situ, particularly on the N and W sides.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of prehistoric settlement. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits. The structures themselves may be expected to contain archaeological information concerning chronology and building techniques.

The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
