Cadw's description

Situated at the centre of a short terrace on the W side of the A487 at Chancery.

Mid C19 picturesque Gothic cottage in one of 2 rows facing each other across the main road, the rows originally of 2 gable ended cottages flanking one double-fronted cottage. Possibly built for the Ffosrhydgaled estate, not marked on 1845 Tithe map.

Single storey mid-terrace cottage in terrace of 3, the end ones gable-ended, the centre one double fronted, with pointed windows, facing a matching terrace opposite. Whitewashed rubble symmetrical frontage with pitched slate roof and massive stone end stacks, both heightened in later C20 red brick. To centre is boarded timber door with lightly cambered head. To left and right are severely-pointed Gothic windows with stone voussoirs and painted stone sills. Small-paned C20 lights replacing originals with interlacing bars to heads as elsewhere on the row. Cobbled paving to front.

Not inspected at time of survey.

Included as a Gothic estate cottage in tightly designed group of such cottages.
