Cadw's description
Location
Situated on W side of road about 800m S of Eisteddfa Gurig.
History
Milestone on turnpike road from Llangurig to Aberystwyth via Devil's Bridge, for which trust was established in 1770. This section of road became part of the new road of 1812 to Aberystwyth via Ponterwyd. This stone and the broken 13-mile stone have an older more elegant incised lettering, probably early C19.
Exterior
Milestone with curved top and inscription 'Aberystwyth 16 miles', the town name in capitals following curve.
Reason for designation
Included for transport historical interest as marking early turnpike route.
