Location
On the W side of Upper Frog Street opposite the rear of the Old Town Hall and Market Hall.
History
Former Prince of Wales Hotel, converted to flats before 1977 when ground floor was occupied by Hilling & Allen. An additional storey has been added since 1977.
Exterior
Former hotel, now flats with shop below. Painted stucco elevation of four storeys, formerly 3, and 2 bays. Original parapet now broken for 2 6-pane C20 sashes and new parapet over. Twelve-pane hornless sashes to 2nd floor and to left hand on 1st floor, canted bay window to right with 4-12-4-pane glazing, the side lights opening. Late C20 shop front across ground floor with double doors to left and overlight, narrower shop door with overlight, and 4-pane shop window with top lights. Plain casing with cornice.
Reason for designation
Included as stucco front in late Georgian style in terraced row on W side of Upper Frog Street.
