Location
The bridge is at the E end of the village of Abererch, carrying the road over the Afon Erch.
History
Built c1800 to improve the route from Tremadoc to Pwllheli.
Exterior
The bridge is built of rubble stonework. It consists of 3 segmental arches, the centre span larger, the arches formed with shaped voussoirs slightly inset behind the flush spandrels. Cutwaters on the upstream side of both water piers, splayed back to the base of the flush parapet, which is coped with large transversely placed stones. The centre span is c7.5m rising approximately 1.5m above the water, and provides a slightly hump-backed carriageway of 3.9m width.
Reason for designation
Included as a good example of an early C19 road bridge in the conservation area of Abererch village.
